Atlantic Stainless Co., Inc of North Attleboro, Ma recently celebrated two big events in the company’s history.
In April, the family-owned operation celebrated its 30th year in business. Formed in 1983, the company has grown from a small office to a distribution and production warehouse serving customers worldwide. President Jerry Cohen credited the company’s loyal employees and equally loyal customers for making the growth and success possible and promised much more in the years ahead.
At the same time, Atlantic Stainless unveiled its newest piece of equipment, a water-injected high definition plasma cutter machine. Cohen hailed the plasma cutter as an important step in Atlantic’s commitment to continuing to provide customers with state-of-the-art cutting options at reasonable prices.
The new equipment will handle stainless plates up to 2” thick. Using water in the cutting process, Atlantic Stainless is now able to provide much tighter cutting tolerances on all standard and custom shapes. With the heat reduction edges are not as hard, allowing for a product requiring less machining to meet finished dimensions. This saves valuable shop time for machinists while costing far less than water-jet or other expensive cutting options.
“Our customers said they wanted to see better quality cut parts, but didn’t want to pay exorbitant prices” Cohen explained. “We listened, and now are able to offer them an economical alternative that meets both their machining and budgetary needs.”
The new plasma cutter offers increased speed and efficiency, as well as a fully computerized program to cut customer drawings. Cohen reports existing customers have expressed tremendous satisfaction with the increased quality of the cuts as well as the ability to decrease loss and waste by holding the tighter tolerances. “It’s a win-win situation for all of us”, he added.
